Case against government (administrative lawsuit)

We call for an injunction against the Government of Japan as a defendant  to require it to cancel the notice of finalization of the project’s environmental assessment and to regulate carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

Why does this require a lawsuit?

Because the plaintiffs may suffer injury if the national government fails to properly exercise its regulatory authority. We believe it is illegal for the government not to cancel the notice of finalization of the project’s

The national government has the duty to protect the health and safety of citizens and the authority to regulate electrical power plants. In other words, it has the duty to prevent injury to citizens caused by power plants. If this duty is not exercised properly, citizens will be affected by climate change and air pollution.
